Yasar “Yash” Nusret, 71, of Belvidere, lost his long battle to cancer on October 6, 2019. Born September 7, 1948 in Cairo, Egypt. He was the son of Ali and Anna (Amarosa) Nusret. Yash grew up in Istanbul, Turkey and immigrated to the United States at age 15. He met Irma Dorner, his loving wife of 53 years in Chicago. They raised their family in Streamwood, IL. Yash worked as a machinist in the Tool and Die Industry. He adored his family; his grandchildren were his heart. Yash was an avid fisherman who loved boating, camping and barbequing. He greeted everyone he met with a warm smile. Survivors include his wife Irma (Dorner) Nusret, daughter Jacqueline (John) Joseph, grandchildren Jacob and Jessica Joseph, and James Nusret. His brothers Kosar (Sandra), Ferhat (Debbie), Irfan (Debbie), sister-in-law Chris Nusret and his nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ali and Anna Nusret, brother Adnan Nusret, and son Michael Nusret. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation 1-3 pm followed by memorial service.
