William “Bill” K. Spielman Jr., 76, of Winnebago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1950, in Freeport, Illinois, to William Sr. and Doris Spielman.
Bill proudly served in the National Guard from 1968 to 1976. He later dedicated many years to his career at Chrysler, where he worked until his retirement.
Bill was a man who found joy in the simple things in life; time spent outdoors, a good laugh, and, most of all, being surrounded by the people he loved. An eternal optimist with a quick wit and an unforgettable smile, Bill had a way of bringing light and laughter wherever he went. He never seemed to meet a stranger and was always ready with a story, a joke, or a smile.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting and carving decoys. He especially cherished sharing his passions and his time with his family. His love for his dogs was equally strong, and his best four-legged friend, Kate, was never far from his side.
Bill is survived by his mother, Doris Spielman; his sons, William “Bill” (Dawn) Spielman III and Matthew (Jaci) Spielman, and their mother, Susan Spielman; his grandchildren, Alex (Kaylee), Makenna, Audrey, Jenna, and Colton; and his great-grandson, Briggs. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Spielman, Brian (Sheila) Spielman, Bruce Spielman, and Nancy (Mike) Booker; his significant other, Pam Wiler; and his beloved dog, Kate. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Spielman Sr.
Bill will be remembered for his always positive attitude, his generous spirit, and the smile that so often graced his face.
Though he may no longer be here to share a story, watch the sun come up from a duck blind, or gather around with the people he loved, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
