William Myers

December 29, 1937 — February 22, 2024

William “Bill” Edward Myers 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 22, 2024. Bill was born December 29,1937 to George and Dorothy (Thompson) Myers. He married Janet Hartweck on September 11th, 2004. Bill was an excellent cement mason for Local 382 for 45 years. He loved fishing for Crappies, hunting, and his garden. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed watching the many birds his feeders attracted. Bill had an amazing mind when it came to fixing things. We like to brag about him being the 1957 Golden Glove Champion (novice division) and shooting the biggest buck in Jo Daviess County that same year. That deer was a 12-point buck with an inside measurement of over 24 inches. His fun natured teasing of the kids in his life will always hold a special place in our hearts. He loved playing Santa Claus for friends and family.

Bill is survived by his wife Jan Myers. Brother George Myers. Children; Mike (Lynn) Myers, Teri (Dan) Collum, Gary Myers (Mari Beth), Greg (Diana) Myers, Doreen (Dan) Winson, Julie (David) Payne, Kevin (Sue) Myers, Missy (Matt) Nelson. Stepchildren; Jennifer Hendrickson and Jeremy (Sarah) Hartweck. Sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, including Cinderella Aubrey and special little buddy, Mason. He is predeceased by his parents and several siblings.

Per Bill’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
