Wayne Heavlin

August 6, 1966 — October 20, 2024

Wayne Leon Heavlin, III, 58, of Rockford, passed away after a long illness on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 6, 1966, the son of Wayne, Jr. and Bernadine (Siepp) Heavlin. Wayne worked in construction for many years as a drywaller in Ohio before moving back to Rockford. He was of the Catholic faith. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Wayne also liked to fish. He loved his family and had a huge heart.

Survivors include his mother Bernadine Prock; the mother of his children Sherry Rue; sons Tyler and Jacob E. (Kristin) Heavlin; grandchildren Dahlia and Dawson Heavlin; brothers Simon Heavlin and Jonathan (Stephanie) Prock; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his father Wayne Heavlin, Jr. and stepfather Randall Prock; brothers Jacob W. Heavlin and James Collard; and his dog Sandman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice, especially nurse Tonya, for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, Saturday, November, 9, 2024, at the Alano Club, 1210 11th Street, Rockford, IL 61104 .
