Watson Forest Rounds, 78, of Loves Park, passed away on January 30, 2024, after a long illness. He was born on December 19, 1945, in Genoa City, Wisconsin; the son of Watson and Ceceilia (Eckert) Rounds. He served in the US Navy for 6 years during the Vietnam War. Watson married the love of his life, Elaine Farquhar on July 11, 1970, in Carpentersville, IL. He worked for ACME Industrial in Carpentersville for 43 years and for Blain’s Farm and Fleet in Loves Park, both in their shipping departments. Watson enjoyed working on cars and taking care of his horse, Starlight, in Marengo, IL. He loved visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elaine; sisters-in-law whom he raised as his own daughters Cindy (Randy) Dotson and Nancy (Phillip) Malouf; sisters-in-law Carol (Mark Castiglioni) Foster-Greatsinger and Pamela Foster; “grandchildren” Ricky and Mandy; “great-grandchildren” Logan, Liam, London, and Neil; sister Arlene (Perry) Millermon; brother James (Sharon) Rounds; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers Ralph and Norman Rounds; and brother-in-law David Farquhar.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 pm, February 16, 2024, at the VFW, Post 9759, 2018 Windsor Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. Interment at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers, please give memorials to the family.
