Waltina “Tina” Piwcewicz, 68, of Loves Park, IL, passed away surrounded by family on March 9, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1957, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Walter and Stephanie Kotlinski. Her parents named her Waltina, Wal from her dad’s name and her godchild’s name Tina, so dad would have a namesake.
She graduated from Ridgewood High School in Norridge, IL, in 1976. She then went to nursing school at Triton College and graduated with an LPN degree in nursing in 1978.
She married the love of her life, Patrick, on October 18, 1980. She worked as an LPN for many years at Northwest Hospital in Chicago and then moved to Loves Park in 1992. She then worked at a nursing agency going into homes helping patients.
In her spare time Tina loved to sew picture album books, sew clothes, and take care of many family members and her grandchildren. She loved to call everyone to check on them and see how they were doing. Tina also enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies.
Waltina is survived by her son Eric Piwcewicz; daughter-in-law Chelsea Benoit; grandchildren Makenzie, Scarlett, and Issac Piwcewicz; sisters Pat Ulman, Chris Labay, Sue (Ken) Lewandowski, Carol (Bob) Murath; brother Walter Kotlinski; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Patrick Piwcewicz; family dog Minnie; her parents Walter and Stephanie Kotlinski; sisters Carol Maria Kotlinski and Annette Sica; and many aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Life Church, 5910 Elevator Rd., Roscoe, IL 61073. There will be a short service at 12 pm and followed by an open house until 4 pm. A special thank you to Pastor Jeremy for his loving assistance to the family.
