Virginia Elliott

December 23, 1953 — January 21, 2026

Virginia “Ginny” Elliott, age 72, entered into eternal rest on January 21, 2026, in Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family.

Ginny was a devoted wife, cherished mother and daughter, beloved sister and aunt, and an adoring grandma and GiGi. Her life was a testament to unconditional love, strength, and selflessness.

Ginny spent her early years in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1973. It was there, while working in the restaurant industry, that she met the love of her life, Paul. Their relationship was a true partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering commitment, serving as an example of a true love story to all who knew them. They were married on July 7, 1979, later moving to Rockford, Illinois, in 1980, where they raised their family and currently reside in Roscoe, Illinois.

Ginny is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Paul Elliott; her son, Eric (Nikki) Elliott; her daughter, Crystal (Jim) Foy; and her treasured grandchildren, Bailey and Peyton Elliott, and JP, Ella, and Olivia Foy. She is also survived by her brothers, Walt (Shelby) Bogdan and Edward (Joan) Bogdan; her sister, Gloria Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimir and Charlotte Bogdan.

Ginny will be remembered for her deep love of family and friends, her kindness and selflessness, and her remarkable mental and physical resilience. A fighter in every sense of the word, she never allowed her adversities to define her. Rarely without a smile, she truly was the heartbeat of her family.

To quote her favorite musical artist, Dave Matthews Band, “Celebrate we will, ’cause life is short but sweet for certain.” Our lives will forever be sweeter because she was in them.
Ginny’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Hidden Creek Estates, 13276 White School Rd., Roscoe, IL 61073. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the UW Madison Carbone Cancer Center. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
