Violeta Squires

August 30, 1951 — May 23, 2024

Violeta M. Squires, 72, of Rockford, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home. She was born August 30, 1951, in Manila, in the Philippines, she is the daughter of Juan and Celestina (Moria) Manila. Violeta moved to the United States in 1974. She enjoyed shopping and sitting on her front porch watching the world go by, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa Squires Opinga; grandsons Thomas and Stefon Squires; partner of over 30 years Ricky Terrell; sisters Anita Rosales and Carmelita Abad; and great-nephews Joshua and Benjamin. She is predeceased by her parents; sister Carolina (Arsenio) Delacruz; and brother Rudolpho Manila.
