Vickie Martin

Vickie Lynn Peak Martin, 69, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully in the late hours of Saturday, March 26, 2022. Vickie was born March 13, 1953, to Josephine and Fred Peak here in Rockford. She was married to Charles Martin for 26 years. Vickie made her family her priority, and enjoyed cooking and spending every minute she had with them. She had a special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a particular interest for poetry and nature, which complimented her free spirit. Vickie loved listening to the blues and going fishing. She was a lady of her word, and never had a problem with telling people what they needed to hear, rather than what they wanted to hear.
She will be missed by her children, Lisa Yarber and Nate Martin; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 2 brothers; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Fred; daughter, Jenna Martin; 1 sister and 2 brothers.
A private memorial service for Vickie will take place in the coming weeks. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
