Vicki Dunker

Vicki Louise Dunker, 66, of Rockford, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Javon Bea Mercy Health-Rockton Campus. Born August 11, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI; daughter of Henry W. Jr. and Alice M. (Tiedeman) John. Married Karl R. Dunker on October 1, 1983; he died September 21, 1999. Vicki was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. If you knew Vicki you knew she was clever, witty, and unbelievably sarcastic and funny. Her family knows she would have been very successful had she written comedy professionally. She enjoyed floral gardening, cooking, and needlepoint. She also loved to read, play Scrabble, and do crossword puzzles. She will be missed by her children Ben, Max, and Chloe Dunker all of Rockford; her granddaughter Ella; sisters Cheri (Brad) Raudonis of Rockford, and Debbie (Stephen) Frank of Egg Harbor, WI; brother Mike John of Rockford; several nieces and nephews; and last but certainly not least, her beloved dog Porter, the best dog in the world. Predeceased by her parents, husband Karl, and sister-in-law Shirley John. A Celebration of Life will be from 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday, August 25 at the Verdi Club, 782 N. Madison St., Rockford, IL 61107. Cremation rites have been accorded.
