Vicenice Walker-McDaniel

Vicenice “Vi” Annette (Walker) McDaniel of Rockford, IL, was called home to be with the Lord after a long illness. She was born on May 16, 1969, in Rockford, IL. The daughter of Willie Clyde Walker, Sr. and Barbara Jean Walker. Vicenice lived her life in Rockford. She graduated from Rockford’s East High School where she played basketball and baseball. She was employed at several companies in the Rockford area.

Early in life, Vi confessed her belief in Christ and united with new Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a member of the Usher Board where she faithfully served her church with her husband Gregory. She enjoyed a good game of cards (spades) for laughter and fun.

Vi was a beloved family member and friend, who will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

Vi leaves to cherish her loving memories with her brothers Willie Walker Jr., Patrick Walker, Brian Walker, and Larry (Michelle) Purifoy. Her loving aunt Mrs. Bernice Lamar, her cousins Greg, Kathy, Beverly, and Charise. Her nieces Shayla and Shinita Barbary and all those she loved dearly.

Vi was preceded in death by her late husband Gregory McDaniel and parents Clyde and Barbara Walker, grandparents Junious and Viola Walker, siblings Debra Wesley and Michael Walker.
