Tonya Marrufo

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION:
Tonya Christina Marrufo, 39, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Tonya was born on December 18, 1982, to John Rhoades and Candi Boss. She attended Rockford East High School, graduating class of 2001. She went on to get her associate degree in Medical Assisting and stayed in the area, working local jobs throughout her years.   Tonya loved to draw, sing and dance, play her saxophone, competing in county fair pageants, cooking, traveling, capturing memories, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She loved her children dearly and loved being a mom.    She is survived by her children, Destiny Marrufo, Christian Marrufo, Xavier A. Marrufo, and Isaiah Morden; parents, Candi (Scott) Ward and John (Candy) Rhoades; siblings, Ashley, Charlotte, Alan, Anthony, Angel, and Cherokee; Janishia, Lavern, D.Anglo, D.Andre; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; father of her children, Xavier Marrufo.    She was preceded in death by her brother, Dustin Rhoades; grandmothers, Dana Clauson and Sharon Burnette; grandfather, Bob Burnette; uncles, Steve Boss and Randy Minnick; aunt, Tammy Burnette; father of her son, Patrick Morden; and her beloved dog Zeus. A memorial service will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Breakthrough Church, 415 N. Church St., Rockford, Illinois 61103.   ?
