Tiffany Gerde

Tiffany Lynn Gerde, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Tiffany was born to Felicia Meyer and John Gerde on July 13, 1988 in Rockford, Illinois. Tiffany attended Jefferson High School, and Rockford Career College. Tiffany was an avid crafter, and always using her artistic and creative gifts. She was a proud mother and loved spending time with her family whenever she had the chance. When she became a Grandma, she found a joy like no other. She was a dear friend to many and was a social butterfly. She enjoyed being outside the house, whether it was for a party, theme park, or just being adventurous in general. She was also known for her cooking and baking, as well as being the only one who could make Oma’s pies. Her favorite day of the year was her Birthday. She loved animals dearly, including her beloved cat and her new kittens.  ? Tiffany is survived by the love of her life, Carlos Jesus Velarde; children, Daniel Estevan Chavez Gerde and Marcello Carlos Velarde; grandson, Prince Loza Chavez; parents, Felicia Meyer and John Gerde; grandmother, Theresa Cowan; sisters, Amanda (Mike Rivera) Gerde and Chrystal Barnett; nieces and nephews, Elyse Rivera, Kriztopher Rivera, Amiliana Velarde, Malachi Velarde, Angel Velarde, Alfonzo Velarde, Octavio Mendoza, and Veronika Mendoza; aunts and uncles, Michael and Sue Cowan, Glen and Janet Cowan, Saundra and Joe Seladi, Dave and Jackie Casazza, John Johnson; cousins, Nicole and Vito Grisanzio, Kelly and Dominic Celletti, Lisa Johnson; great aunts and uncles, Robert “Bob” and Gladys Cowan, Carol Dolan, Randy and Mary Cowan, Toby and Sue Cowan; mother-in-law, Esther Velarde; brothers-in-law, Rey Velarde and Andre Velarde.  Tiffany was preceded in death by her grandparents, Doris and John Gerde Sr., Jim Cowan; great-grandparents, Claude and Alma Cowan; aunt, Loretta Gerde Johnson.  A memorial service for Tiffany will take place Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Salvation Army Church, 500 South Rockford Avenue, Rockford, Illinois, 61104.
