Thomas Swisher

November 2, 1974 — August 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Tommy Swisher who left this world on August 27th, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on November 2nd, 1974, in Rockford, Tommy lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering positivity that touched everyone around him. Even in the face of great challenges, including his journey with a heart transplant, he never let hardship diminish his spirit. Instead, he inspired those who knew him with courage, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life's blessings.

Tommy was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. His laugh was infectious, his heart generous, and his outlook always hopeful. To his family, he was not only a source of love but also a reminder of the importance of perseverance, gratitude, and joy.

He is survived by his wife Alicia Swisher; mother Judy Gray; siblings Todd Gray, Jason (Kelly) Swisher, Kasie Swisher and her husband Francisco and Kevin Swisher; special cousin Tatum and Charity; numerous nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; a special thanks to Tommy's mother-in-law, Karen Howard; sisters-in-law Tiffany Howard and Trina (Dan) Nelson; and his beloved cats Moomoo and Patches. They will carry forward his memory and the many lessons he gave through his example.

Tommy is predeceased by his father Roger Swisher; twin brother Tim Swisher; brother Travis Swisher; father-in-law, Owen Howard; and his two cats Sassy and Whiskers.

Though his time with us feels far too short, Tommy leaves behind a legacy of love and optimism that will continue to live in all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his wife, Alicia Swisher

His light will forever remain with us.

Thank you to the UW-Madison Transplant Team for the wonderful care they gave Tommy, especially Josh and Elise. Moreover, thank you to all of the family and friends that came to support Tommy throughout his life.
