UPDATED BURIAL INFORMATION: Thomas A. Sturgeon, 86, of Machesney Park, formerly of Olmsted Falls, OH, passed away in his home on October 2, 2021. Born July 22, 1935, in Middleburg Heights, Ohio; son of John and Sarah (Adams) Sturgeon. He graduated Class of 1953 from Berea High School in Berea, OH. Tom served in the US Army for 6 years and was the treasurer for the ASA (Army Security Agency) for 14 years. He also was in Officer’s Training School at Fort Benning. He married Marian Shawback on January 19, 2002. He worked for United Airlines as a ticket agent for 30 years and was a travel agent for Suburban Travel in North Olmsted, OH. Tom was a member of the Evangelical Friends Church in North Olmsted and sold popcorn every year on July 4th for the Berea Historical Museum. He loved going to classic car shows, traveling, and starting his day with a good cup of coffee. He is survived by his loving wife Marian; children Andy (Carol) Sturgeon of Vancouver, WA, Randy (Lorrinda) Sturgeon of Vale, AZ, and Ken (Beth) Sturgeon of Woburn, MA; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; stepdaughters Brenda (Kris) Johnson and Julie Shawback; siblings Bob Sturgeon and Dan (Cheryl) Sturgeon; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Joanie Ferguson. Burial will be 10 am, Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Woodvale Cemetery, 7535 Engle Rd., Middelburg Heights, OH 44130 with a lunch to follow at North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church, 5665 Great Northern Blvd, North Olmsted, OH 44070.
