March 17 th , 1970- March 26 th , 2025
Thomas "Tom" Griep born March 17 , 1970, and left this world peacefully March 26 , 2025, surrounded by his wife and children after a long battle with health issues. Was born to Eugene and Gloria Griep in Watertown, Wisconsin . As a young child, Tom and his family moved to the west end of Rockfor d Il where his parents raised him and his siblings. Tom attended Auburn high school and at 17 started working at the Octopus ca r wash where he worked his way to manager at both Rockford locations . Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and papa to his 6 children and 12 grandchildren. In 2000 Tom met the love of his life Amanda (Vice) Griep whom he would later marry July 13 th of 2007 . Tom loved his family more than anything and his gran dchildren were the most cherished possession of his life. Tom was an avid football fan always cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Tom loved the outdoors , taking his family on many memorable camping trips and road trips where they would "get lost on purpose" Tom also loved his cars and God forbid you touched his windows. He will be dearly missed for his love and stubborn nature. Tom leaves behind his wife and partner of 24 years Amanda ( Vice) Griep who cared for him through his illness as well as his 6 children Thomas Griep Jr., Stacey Griep, Baron ( Taylor ) Griep and their mother Lisa Griep as well as Jordan ( Brea nna ) Pullan, Sky (Jesse) Wright, Emily Elder, and Shana (Shane) Shuga , 12 beautiful grandchildren, and brother Todd (Nancy) Griep , along with many nieces and nephews and loved ones.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Gloria Griep, his sister Tammy Griep, and many other loved ones.
T here will be a celebration of life on April 26 th , 2025, at 1:00 pm at Levings Lake in Rockford Illinois in shelter 1 . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family or at his celebration of life.
