Thomas Payne

Thomas J. Payne, 69, of Amboy, passed away at home on Thursday, August 8, 2019. He was born on October 31, 1949 in Amboy, the son of Leo J. and Marjorie (Reed) Payne. He married Linda Madden on February 2, 1968, in Dixon. He retired as a mechanic from Ken Nelson Auto Mall and worked as a mechanic for Lavern Blosser for many years. Survivors include his wife Linda; daughter Angela (Mike) Healey of Marshall, son Keith (Robyn) of Louisville; grandchildren Klayton and Sierra Payne, and Brandon Healy; sisters Sharon (Don) Sawyer of Dixon, Diane (Ed) Kutz of Humboldt, TN, Joan Sprague of Dixon, Paula (Butch) Schwitters of Dixon, and Renee Payne of Rockford. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother-inlaw Curt Sprague. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial for immediate family and a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home of Oregon, IL. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 7307 N. Alpine Rd., Loves Park, IL.
