Thomas Lones

Thomas J. Lones, 64, of Machesney Park, passed away on July 22, 2026, at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on March 26, 1962, in Rockford, the son of Roy and Sarah (Womble) Lones.

Thomas worked as a mechanic before having to retire early. He believed in hard working values and strong morals. He was a loving and loyal friend to all who knew him. He donated to veterans, Shriners Children’s Hospital, and many other organizations. He was the type of person to share his sandwich with a stranger if they were hungry.

Survivors include his brother Allen Lones; son Tim Lones; grandchildren MacKenzie Lynn Lones, Jayden Lones, Caleb Lones, Raelynn Kay Lones; nephews Joe Lones, Jamie Lones, and Shane Lones; nieces Natasha Lones and Jennifer Lones; a vast number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Roy and Sarah Lones; ex-wife Martha Johnson; son Jeremy Lones; and brother Randall Lones.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, Friday, August 21, 2026, at Sinnissippi Park Twin Shelters (above the band shelter) 1401 N. 2nd St., Rockford, IL 61107.
