Thomas Elder

Thomas “Cuss” Edward Elder, 69, of Rockford, passed away in his home on September 18, 2024. He was born on April 21, 1955, in Rockford, IL; the son of Thomas O. and Betty S. (Spradlin) Elder. He married Tara Fuller on September 12, 2003. Thomas liked to play poker and enjoyed woodworking. He was a gun enthusiast, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his three grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Tara Fuller; children James McFadden, Ian McFadden, and Katelyn Elder; 3 granddaughters; brothers Terry (Sue) Elder, Jimmy (Rebecca) Elder, and Andy (Aletta) Elder; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Cletus “Joe” and John “Tony”.

A Celebration of Life picnic, just as Thomas wanted, will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Killbuck Bluffs Forest Preserve, Edgewood Shelter, 3061 South Bend Rd., Rockford, IL 61109.
