Thomas Appelman

Thomas L. Appelman, 71, of Freeport, passed away on December 31, 2023, at UW Health Swedish American Hospital. He was born March 23, 1952, in West Union, Iowa. Thomas married Rebecca Augsburger on September 26, 1981. He worked in manufacturing for many years but also worked as a self-employed accountant. He and Rebecca were members of the Church of the Brethren in Freeport. Thomas was very interested in genealogy and enjoyed doing research. He was also into playing chess, reading, Dungeons and Dragons and computer games. Thomas is survived by his wife Rebecca; children David (Ana) Appelman, Adrian (Jocelyn) Appelman, Christopher (Emily) Appelman, Eric (Stephanie) Barton, and Heidi (Daymen) Kaiser; many grandchildren; sister Dorothy (Nick) Steinlage; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, mother and 2 brothers.
