Theresa Ann Fermanich, 87, of Rockton, passed away on April 2, 2024, in Highview in the Woodlands. She was born on May 1, 1937, in Maple Creek, Wisconsin; the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Sammer) Fermanich. She grew up on a farm outside of New London, WI. She graduated from Manawa High School in 1955 and moved to Milwaukee where she worked for Schlitz brewing company for 7 years. She then moved to the San Franscisco area and settled in Novato, California. While living in California she was an underwriter for a mortgage company. Theresa enjoyed traveling. She went to Europe a few times and went to many places around the US as well. She even rode a mule down into the Grand Canyon.
Theresa is survived by her brothers Raymond (Wanda) Fermanich, John (Virginia) Fermanich, and Paul (Beverly) Fermanich, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Bernard Fermanich, Sister Raymond Marie, LaVerne Olson, and Lauretta Breunig.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr., Rockford, IL 61109 with Rev. Matthew Widder officiating. There will be visitation from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date later near her childhood home in New London, Wisconsin.
