Terry “Dean” Adams, AKA The Mayor, 76, of Rockford, passed away on December 27, 2024, in his home. He was born on July 8, 1948, in Peach Orchard, Arkansas; the son of Vester and Leona Mae (Brown) Adams. Dean was married to Donna “Dolly” Bennett. He worked as a welder, carpet layer, and was really a Jack-of-all-trades. Dean was also involved in helping build the Rockford Symbol when he worked for Arntzen Steel. He and Dolly became real estate investors later in life and his handiness was a very valuable trait to have in taking care of his properties. Dean had been a member of the Wig Hill Men’s Club in Rockford. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a golfer, and enjoyed going fishing with his daughter Tashia. He was also a motorcross dad for 10 years taking his son Joey to competitions. Dean was very close to his brothers and sisters and their family always enjoyed a good pig roast.
Survivors include his children Tashia Adams, Tabitha Adams, and Joey Adams; grandchildren Mason, Maliya, Zoe, Ryder, Harlee, and Weston; siblings Larry Adams, Debbie LaFontaine, Michael (Sandy) Adams. And Cyndi (Bill) Nitz; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; wife Donna “Dolly”; and brothers Richard, James, Ron, Doug, and Gene Adams.
