Susan J Weigle

Susan “Sue” Jean Weigle was born in New Castle, PA on January 5, 1947, to the late David and Jean (Pawley) Harris. She died peacefully at home in Rockford on August 12, 2026. Susan’s mother was a WWII bride from High Wycombe, England. Raised on a farm, in her early school years, she spoke with an English accent. She attended Slippery Rock University where she met Gordon Weigle at a school dance. Susan and Gordon were married 60 years until his death December 2025. She was a long-time member and church secretary for 35 years at Bethesda Covenant Church. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and sudoku, attending live theater and watching British mysteries. Her wisdom and ability to listen will be missed by her family.

Survivors include daughter Joanne (Rick) Arroy; sons Alan (Melanie Standifer) Weigle, and Steven Weigle; grandchildren Forrest Arroy, David Weigle, James (Hailie) Murray, and Colin Standifer; sister Janet (Mike) Fierst. Predeceased by her parents; husband Gordy and brother David J. Harris.

There will be no local services. At Sue’s request, her ashes will be scattered at the farm near New Castle, PA.
