Susan Nygren

April 2, 1951 — April 24, 2025

Susan C. Nygren, 74, of Machesney Park, passed way peacefully in her home with her beloved son, Danny, on April 24, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1951, in Rockford, the daughter of Harold and Ethel McBain. She was married to Clarence Nygren and he passed away on December 3, 2015. She was mainly a homemaker but also worked in housekeeping at Swedish American Hospital. Susan enjoyed watching "Golden Girls" and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. She also loved to visit family. She enjoyed eating out and Chinese food was always her favorite. She was a great mom, and she will be missed.

Survivors include her son Danny McBain and grandson Shane Engler; her stepson Jeff Nygren and grandson Joshua Nygren; sister Kathy Preszler; nephews Larry McBain, Jr., David Dahlgren, Steve (Tracey) Livingston, and Kevin Kavadas; nieces Rebecca (Kelly) Sarrels, Sheila Dahlgren, and Lisa Kavadas; and her precious cats Cookie and Little Girl. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Clarence; sisters Debbie Kavadas, Sharon Livingston, and Nellie Dahlgren; and brothers Larry McBain, Sr. and Ronnie McBain.
