Susan Lagrene

Susan LaGrene died peacefully in Byron, IL on Friday June 23rd at the age of 66. Susan is survived by her husband, Charles LaGrene; children Angela Fligge and Nicholas Kopp; stepson Anthony LaGrene; Sister, Deborah Juhlin; Brother, Scott Youngs; Grandchildren, Katey, Matt, Isabelle, Paul, Michael, Vinny, and Paige. Susan LaGrene was born Susan Ruth Spencer in Chicago, Illinois. Susan moved to Rockford, Illinois, and married Paul L. Kopp. Through the 1970s and 80s the couple welcomed three children into their home Kristopher (deceased January 2023), Angela, and Nicholas. Her Children remember Mom as a selfless, warm-hearted, hospitable loving mother. Never could you enter her home and leave hungry or cold. Susie's benevolent smile reassured comfort and safety. She was passionate about providing to others no matter the difficulty and cost. A memorial gathering for Susan LaGrene will be held August 6, 2023, from 1:00 - 3:00pm at Linos Italian Restaurant, 5611 E State Street, Rockford, IL.
