Susan Frick

June 20, 1955 — December 28, 2025

Susan Marie Frick, 70, of Poplar Grove, passed away in her home on December 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 20, 1955, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Willard Heard and Rosemarie Davis.

Susan graduated from Evergreen Park High School in 1974 and married the love of her life, Robert G. Frick, on February 16, 1980, in St. Charles, Illinois. She worked as an assistant in the special education departments of both the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, Wisconsin, and the Corona–Norco Unified School District in Corona, California. Susan was deeply devoted to her students and was inspired to work in special education because of her brother, John.

Susan’s dedication to her family was unwavering. To say they were her priority is an understatement—her mission in life was to ensure that everyone she loved was cared for. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her granddaughter, cherishing every moment they shared together. A true sports fan, Susan loved cheering on her two sons at their games and was a lifelong supporter of the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bob; her sons Andrew Frick and Tom (Maegan) Frick; granddaughter Hailsey Sue; brothers David (Lynn) Heard and Joe Kielbasa, Jr.; sister Barbara (Steve) Cabello; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her cat Toby and grand-cats Hunter and Adolfo. She is predeceased by her father Willard Heard; mother Rosemarie Kielbasa; stepfather Joseph Kielbasa; and brother John Kielbasa.

Per Susan’s wishes there will be no formal services. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
