Stephen Stromberg

February 18, 1943 — February 27, 2025

Stephen G. Stromberg, 82 of Rockford passed away in his home on February 27, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1943, in Rockford to Paul and Helen (Gardiner) Stromberg. He graduated from West High school in 1961 and was proud to be from the North End neighborhood where he lived most of his life.

He worked as a banker for many years and later in life followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps into the interior decorating field as a professional painter. Steve had many lifelong friends, never knew a stranger and could carry on a great conversation about many things! Steve looked forward to his weekly breakfasts and lunches with great friends where there was never a shortage of topics to talk about. He was also a friend of Bill. (A special acknowledgment to the Downtown Group.)

Stephen is survived by nephew Brian (Jodi) Stromberg and family. Special companion Julie Kappes, Gus the cat! and many life-long friends. He is predeceased by both parents and brother Carl Stromberg.
