Stephen Stiffler

Stephen Lee Stiffler, 74, passed in the comfort of his home on Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by his daughter Shannon and son Michael, and loving family members. In an incredible and bittersweet moment, Steve passed just hours after his father, Richard, with whom he shared an incredibly close and loving relationship. He was born on October 25,1948, to Richard and Rita (Wickson) Stiffler and was the eldest of eight children. He is survived by his children, Shannon (Brad) Chambers, son Michael (Elizabeth) Stiffler, grandchildren Olivia and Lauren Chambers, and Josephine and Ari Stiffler, each of whom he adored, siblings Cynthia (Carl) Orlando, Bill Stiffler, Howie Stiffler, Ann (Jesse) Campos, Patty (Dean) Schermerhorn, and Ellen (Matt) Harp, and numerous very special nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Richard, his mother, Rita, and brother Gene Stiffler.
A private memorial will be held as Steve wished. His children would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of OSF Hospice and his amazing nurse, Lydia, as she filled the days with laughter and conversation and warmth and empathy, and most importantly, comfort.
