Shirley Vetter

Shirley Vetter, 76, of Rockford, passed away on November 1, 2020 in her home after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born February 4, 1944 in Wakefield, MI; daughter of Clyde and Eleanor (Fingeroos) Harris. She grew up in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School. She was married to her devoted and loving husband Tom Vetter. They made their home in several locations until 1995 when they settled in Rockford. Tom was by her side constantly through her final journey. Shirley is survived by her husband Tom; daughter Kristy (Todd) Laitinen; and grandson Matt. She was predeceased by her parents. As per Shirley’s wishes there will be a private celebration of life in Rockford at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Rd., Loves Park.
