Sharon Newman

Sharon Kay Newman, 68, of Rockford, passed away on April 26, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 23, 1957, in Rockford, the daughter of Herman and Darlene (Miller) Rauch.

Sharon married Donald Newman on May 16, 2000, though their love story spanned 47 wonderful years together. Side by side, they owned and operated a seal coating business, building both a livelihood and a life grounded in dedication and partnership.

Sharon was a proud homemaker who cherished a simple, meaningful life. Her family was always at the heart of everything she did, and she found great joy in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed listening to country music and was happiest in the kitchen, preparing meals that brought people together.

Survivors include her husband Donald Newman; daughter Kelly Quinby; stepchildren Penny Garcia, Tammy Clark, and Don Newman; grandchildren Priscilla Tolefree, Austin Edwards, Kayla Dahlberg, Brittany Dahlberg, and Ashley Quinby; several great- grandchildren; sister Dixie Johnson; brother Daniel Rauch; and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; daughter Amy Nading; sisters Joan Elder, Phyllis Jeneliunas, and Pam Poole; and brother Bobby Rauch.
