Shane Ackerman

Shane Lee Ackerman, 53, of Lisle, IL passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at home after a long illness. Shane was born September 2, 1969, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Randy and Linda (Swanson) Ackerman. He grew up and attended school in Woodstock, IL and then moved to Orange, California his senior year of high school in 1986. Shane worked many years for McDonalds and attended Hamburger University in Chicago, IL and worked his way up to store manager. He eventually left there and began working at Keyston Bros. in Anaheim, California, a leading supplier of fabrics and vinyls. He was employed there over 25 years working in shipping, sales, assistant manager, and store manager. Shane recently relocated to Illinois to work at the Warrenville, IL store. Shane was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan from an early age and stuck with both over the years. Shane is survived by his son, Ryan Ackerman of Chicago, IL; mother and stepfather Linda (Bill) Graf of Friendship, WI; stepmother Mary Ackerman of Poplar Grove, IL; brother John (Chris) Ackerman of Friendship, WI; sister Karen (Bill) Cabage of Richmond, IL; brother Jim (Suzanne) Graf of Winnabow, NC; and brother Joe Graf of Columbus, GA. He was predeceased by his father Randy Ackerman, and brother Tom Graf. A Memorial will be held 1 to 4 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Boone County Council on Aging in the Community Room located at 2141 Henry Luckow Lane, Belvidere, IL 61008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Friendship Lake for their Sunshine Park Project and can be sent to 1150 B Dakota Ave., Friendship, WI 53934.
