Sean Martin

Sean David Martin, 49, of Machesney Park, died October 22, 2019 in his home. Born April 8, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio; son of Allen and Linda (Fisher) Martin. Graduated from Westland High School, Galloway, OH, class of 1988. Sean worked as a DJ at the Office Night Club in Rockford back in the ‘90’s. He also, more recently, volunteered at the Winnebago County Animal Services taking care of cats, 6 days a week, for several years. He would match up cats with their “furever home” families. He enjoyed singing karaoke. He was an avid “B” horror movie fan, especially Rocky Horror Picture Show. He enjoyed traveling to Galena and Starved Rock and preferred to stay in rustic log cabins.  Survivors include his parents Allen and Linda Martin; partner Matt Gates; brother Chad ( Jennifer) Martin; sister Mandy (Wil) Christiansen; nieces and nephews Jacob and Abigail Martin and Willow and Cooper Christiansen; several aunts and uncles, cousins Renee, Jamie, Jennifer, Terre, Tanya, Elizabeth, Tyler, Erica, Torry, Nathan, Gerrad, Lyndsey, Mandy, and Paige; and his cats Smitten, Jasper Munchkin, Meep, and Smokie. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and 1 aunt. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 7307 N.
