Sara Resenbeck

Sara Elizabeth Resenbeck, 81, of Rockford, passed away at Park Place Nursing Home in Belvidere, on March 20, 2022. Born September 29, 1940, in Spruce Pines, AL; the daughter of Samuel and Jessie (Dill) Wingo. She married Ralph Resenbeck on January 11, 1969, and he passed away on February 26, 2007. Sara was employed at Precision Group for over 25 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and Heartland Community Church. Sara loved to play bingo, cards, and gambling, and was on a few bowling leagues.  She would have crafting get togethers with her sisters that they called “Stitch and Bitch”. She owned a restaurant in her younger years and loved to cook. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Park Place of Belvidere staff and Northern Illinois Hospice for the care and love that was given to Sara. Her survivors include her children Kristy Moye, Daniel (Christa) Resenbeck, Debbie (Cliff) Priewe, Doug (Amy) Resenbeck, and Diane (Joe) Mantione; grandchildren Jessica Vance, Joshua (Elaine) Moye, Christian, Elliot, and Owen Resenbeck, Jason Schafer, Jennifer (Michael) Hannah, Amy (Michael) Wibben, and Aaron Priewe; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Patsy Hawley, Jeanette Hicks, Nancy Coyne, and Kathy (Phil) Meseck; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Wade (Sandy) Vance; and sister-in-law Dixie Vance. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Harold Wingo, sister Shirley Johnson, brother-in-law Lester Vance, and sister-in-law Betty Falzone. A Celebration of Life will be held to share our memories of Sara on Sunday, April 10 th , 1pm to 5pm at the Lyran Club, 1115 4 th Ave., Rockford, IL 61104.
