Sandra Hanson

Sandra Glea Hanson, 79, of Machesney Park, passed away May 8, 2021 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born December 25, 1941 in Portage, WI; daughter of Leigh and Carrie (Robinson) Weider. Married David O. Hanson on February 22, 1964. He died on November 25, 2017. Sandra worked at K-Mart for over 20 years, she worked in just about every department during that time. She collected porcelain dolls, making many of them herself. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters and gambling. While her husband David was alive, they would travel every winter to spend time at their home in Florida. Sandra had a large family and that was always her priority. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons Todd (Judy) and Troy (Theresa) Hanson; grandchildren Bryan, Kara, Bethany, and Kyle Hanson; great-grandchildren Violet and Dahlia; siblings Larry (Jane), Gary, and Penny Weider; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Daisy. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and many siblings. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Rd., Loves Park.
