Samuel Mandujano

December 31, 1969 — July 30, 2021

Samuel S. Mandujano, 35, passed away on July 30. 2021 with loved ones by his side in Swedish American Hospital. Known to his friends and family as “Sammy”. Sammy was born on January 15,1986 in Rockford, Illinois. The son of Samuel “ Sam ” Mandujano and Marilyn S. (Collins). Sammy received his G.E.D. from Rock Valley College. When Sammy was not spending time with his daughter Malia, you could find him outdoors. He could spend hours tinkering around in the garage. As much as he enjoyed the outdoors he never hesitated to drop everything for some daddy / daughter time. Sammy’s world revolved around his daughter Malia. You could always hear him telling her “ I love you and that she was the love of his life.” Sammy is survived by his mother Marilyn Flores, daughter Malia Mandujano - Ethridge, step sister Ahide “Heidi” & Sam Rattanasavanh, nephew Nouk & Melissa Rattanasavanh, Tommy Rattanasavanh, nephew Anthony Rattanasavanh, maternal grandmother Marilyn Collins, his aunt Bonnie & Robert Johnson, uncle William “Bill” Collins Jr., uncle Robert & Carla Collins, uncle Benigno Mandujano, uncle Hermillo “Chico” & Nancy Mandujano, cousin Jennifer & Aron Freeman, cousin David & Karri Mandujano, cousin Jonathan Collins, cousin Jessica & Jordan Mahnke, cousin Noah Mandujano, cousin Ashley & Kyle Dusing and cousin Robert Collins Jr. Along with many other aunts, cousins and loved ones in Texas and Mexico. Sammy also had many friends that he considered family by choice. Sammy is predeceased by his father Samuel “ Sam” Mandujano, maternal grandpa William Collins, paternal grandparents Evaristo & Gabina Mandujano and both maternal and paternal great grandparents.  ? The family would like to extend a special thank you to the second floor CCU at Swedish American Hospital. The entire staff went up and beyond to help our family through this difficult time. There were many times we felt as if we were all family. Words can not express our gratitude.  Everyone would agree that Sammy would do anything he could to help anyone and everyone. Even those he didn’t know. This may or may not be a surprise to everyone. But it was a surprise to his family when we were notified that Sammy had signed up to be an organ / tissue donor. Although Sammy will not be here to physically look at. He will forever live in our hearts and memories. But for those special recipients he will be able to physically live on in them for many years to come.  We will also be having a celebration of life at The Filling Station at 6259 Eleventh Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61109 on Oct 3,2021. As the date approaches closer the family will make posts on facebook with more information.
