Ryan Sherman

Ryan Timothy Sherman, 17, of Belvidere, Illinois went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2023. Ryan was born on June 15, 2005, in Rockford, IL, the son of Derek and Vicki Sherman and the brother of Connor Sherman. Ryan was a senior at Guilford High School and was a member of the school choir and harmonics. He was an active member in Christian Youth Theater (CYT) since 2015. He performed in 16 shows. Some of his lead roles were Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, The Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Rooster in Annie, Melman in Madagascar, and Mr. Krabs in Sponge Bob. He loved singing and theater. He was on the Hype Committee for 2 years for CYT. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church where he helped run the sound system, usher, was a table leader for Wednesday Night Kids Club and he was an active member of the youth group. Ryan was an active 4-H member for 11 years. He was treasurer for Midway Marvels 4-H club for 2 years. He went to State for his theater project. He is survived by his parents Derek and Vicki; brother Connor; grandfather William Ferger; aunt Lisken Sherman; aunt Debi (Jim) Fiegle; and cousins Alyson Fiegle, Jason Fiegle, and Erica Fiegle. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tex and Barb Sherman; grandmother Janet Ferger; and cousin Andrew Fiegle. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 20th at 5:30-8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 21st from 1:00-2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church on 2821 N. Bell School Rd. Rockford, IL. Ryan’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 21st at 2:30 PM at Westminster. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Christian Youth Theater (CYT)
