Russell Burdette Watters, Sr., 66, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at UW Swedish American Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1959, in Rockford; the son of William and Irla (Trenholm) Watters, Sr. Russell attended Jefferson High School and worked as a finisher at Amerock. He loved playing dice and cards. He shot pool and was a hustler, he could make a dollar from 15 cents. Russell was a social person and was the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and was a very generous person. He enjoyed bowling and riding motorcycles when he was younger. He made the trip to Sturgis a few times.
Russell is survived by his children Russell Burdette Watters, Jr., Brandy A. Watters, and Greydon Freer; grandchildren Layla and Lydia Watters, Zanay Williams, and Eric Fletcher, Jr.; siblings Coco (Michael) Musso, Harold, Keith, and Shaun Watters; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and the mother of his children Kristy Watters. He is predeceased by his parents and brother William Watters, Jr.
