Russell Vincent “Buddy” Petrie, passed away on December 12, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1942, to Russell Allen Petrie and Virginia Mae Smith.
Buddy developed a love for cars at a young age, proudly owning a 1957 Chevy in his earlier years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed buying different vehicles and attending car shows. Another passion of Buddy’s was collecting clocks, ranging from cuckoo clocks to elegant grandfather clocks, each one reflecting his appreciation for detail and timeless quality.

For more than 60 years, Buddy worked as a self-contractor in carpeting and tiling, proudly dedicating his career to his trade. He worked with Carpet Land and Lonnie’s Carpet and continued working until the age of 70. Buddy truly loved his craft and took great pride in his work. He was known for being meticulous, always going above and beyond to ensure every job was completed to the highest standard. Buddy lived in Florida for 30 years, where he continued to work hard and enjoy the life he built. He will be remembered as a dedicated craftsman, a hardworking man, and someone who took pride in everything he did.

Buddy is remembered by his three children, Michael (Kristin) Petrie, Paul (Michele) Petrie and Aimee (Dave) Henry; brothers Steve Petrie, Robert (Bobby) Petrie and sister Susan Stump; grandchildren Katie (Mike) Francek, Trey Brugmen, Taylor Henry and Grace Petrie; great-grandchildren Scout, Hawk Francek and Corey Brugmen.
He is predeceased by both parents and his sister Susan Petrie.
