Ronald C. Wells Sr.

Ronald Clarence Wells, Sr., 89, of Rockford, passed away on August 21, 2026. He was born on August 25, 1936, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Clarence and Lillian Wells.

Ronald attended Colerain High School. He owned The Best Damned Bar and the Bridge Inn in Miamitown, Ohio, for many years. He had the perfect personality for being a bar owner—he was charming, outgoing, very social, and a shameless flirt. Ronald also owned several gas stations and an auto mechanic garage.

Ronald had a true love for speed and enjoyed drag racing and dirt track racing. When his son was young, he proudly coached his baseball team. He was a wonderful dad who cherished his children and loved spending time with them. Ronald lived life to the fullest and always saw the best in everyone. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved the Lord. He lived his life in a way that reflected his faith, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well lived.

Survivors include his children Ronald (Debbie) Wells, Jr., Jeanie (Stevie Cameron) Wells, Daniel (Agnes) Wells, and Danielle Sandusky; grandchildren Ronnie (Sarah), Kyle (Tia Debruler), Danny Jr. (Kimberly), and Michael (Hannah) Wells, Kathleen (Robbie) Hayes, Kiya and Layla Cameron, Brantley and Jayden Shanblin, and Brianna and Journee Petrey; great-grandchildren Travis Bailey, Briar, Wyatt, Bronson, Aiden, John, and Theo; siblings Carol Gadd, Rob Wells, George (Marylee) Wells, Rick Wells, Steve (Julie) Wells, and Nancy (Wayne) Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; and sister Pat (Robert) Richmond.
