Ronald P. Vincer of Rockford, IL, passed away at the age of 88 surrounded and comforted by his loving family on November 8, 2022. He was born on November 12, 1933, the son of Peter and Elsie Vincer. Ron was married to Shirley (Clark), the love of his life, for 65 years. He retired in his early 50’s from working at Twin Disc as a machine repairman for many years. He continued his working years at All Rental Garments and Star Mechanical. Ron was a Korean War Air Force Veteran where he served his country from 1952-1955. He enjoyed shooting pool with his buddies at the YMCA, rooting for the Chicago bears in good and bad seasons with his son and son-in-law, spending quality time and sharing wisdom and humor with his daughters, sharing his love of reading with his daughter-in-law, and spending time with all of his family members. His family was very important to him, and he always let us know that he loved us. Ron enjoyed fishing, family pumpkin carving days, and handing out presents to his grandkids at Christmas. Some of his favorite things to do were playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, smoking a cigar, watching the birds, taking care of his yard, and watching cowboy movies in the afternoon with his special gal Shirl. His favorite vacations were a Caribbean cruise, trips to Las Vegas and the Wisconsin Dells. He was a very proud man who loved his country. Ron loved listening to Frank Sinatra and dancing with the love of his life, Shirley.  Ron is survived by his wife and soulmate Shirley, daughters Ronda (Pat) Owens, Kimberly Kemppainen, and his son and best friend Brian (Tracy) Vincer. He also had 5 grand kids, 10 great grand kids, and 7 great-great grandkids. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Duane Vincer and sister Betty Brown. A visitation and funeral will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Visitation will begin at 10 AM, with the funeral service at 11AM. St. Rita Catholic Church is located at 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL 61109. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the American Lombardi Society, 209 Olive Street, Rockford, IL 61107. A memorial service will be held for immediate family at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61111.
