Ronald W. Loy of Pecatonica died Tuesday March 26 in Swedish American Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born July 15, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to Doris and Andrew Loy. Ron loved his family, the Lord, and the Marine Corps. Ron served his country as Marine Corp Staff Sargent from 1961-1970. Ron also served two tours in the Vietnam War stationed at Dong Ha Delta Med.
Ron married the love of his life Evelyn Howard on January 16, 1965, and raised three children in Rockford, Illinois. Ron enjoyed war and western movies and listening to southern gospel music. Ron’s family was the center of his world and will be missed by all.
His parents Andrew and Doris, wife Evelyn and Sister Linda Brasher predeceased Ron. Survived by children Jeff (Lisa) Loy of Paragould, Arkansas, Denise (Daren) Trotter of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Lori (Jeff) Bauch of Pecatonica, Illinois, brother-in-law and best friend, Robert Howard of Pecatonica, Illinois, sisters Karen Sundberg of Rockford, IL, June Wren and Pam Renner of Machesney Park, Illinois
Grandchildren Mathew, Mason, Alex, Gabriel Trotter, Cassidy Beeskow, Shelley, Jeffery, Wesley and Liberty Loy, Angellique and Drake Bauch. Great Grandchildren Samantha, Tristan, Grayson, Sophie, Beckham, Mia and Lochlan Trotter, Declan, Noah, Pyper, Layla and Nova Osborn and Llyana Hines-Bauch. Many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Ron’s family would like to thank Chris RN and Dr. Campbell of the UW Swedish American Hospital’s critical care unit for the outstanding dignified care given to our father. Also, a special thank you to Carolyn Torres RT for her cherished family friendship over the years. Services to be announced.
