Roger Stambaugh

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Roger Baxter Stambaugh “Big Rog”, 69, of Rock City, passed away August 1, 2023, in Rockford. He was born on May 7, 1954, in Rockford and was the son of William and Audrey (Foote) Stambaugh. Roger married Christy M. McNier on May 23, 1975. He worked as a heavy equipment operator through the Local 150 Union and retired in 2010. He then fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a farmer when he purchased a farm. He was a member of the American Legion Riders Gold Star Post 676. Roger loved classic cars and antiques. He collected anything that was considered old. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed making people laugh. His grandchildren were his heart. He loved the old school way of life and was a hard worker and would drop everything to help someone in need. His survived by his loving wife Chris; sons Roger Stambaugh and Mike (Rachel) Stambaugh; grandchildren Ella, Sawyer, and Clayton Stambaugh; siblings Geraldine (Jim) Friis, Lillian (Rick) Quam, Ann Johnson, and Leroy (Pam) Stambaugh; numerous nieces and nephews and 3 sisters-in-law. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Ralph (Lesley) Stambaugh. A Celebration of Life will be at 4 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Roger's farm, 7168 E.
