Rodney Towne

June 6, 1938 — August 14, 2024

Rodney Wayne Towne, 86, of Rockford, passed away on August 14, 2024, at Swedish American Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1938, in Sauk County, Wisconsin; the son of Harry and Alma (Pearson) Towne. He served in the US AirForce. Rodney was a lifetime member of the Lyran Society, Blackhawk Athletic Club, and White Eagles of Rockford. He was an avid football fan and followed the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Towne; daughters Cindy Towne, Cheri Brown, Connie Lenstrom, Lori Millard, and Rita Hanson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Laurel Birch. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers; and sisters.

A memorial dinner will be at 2 pm, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Lyran Society, 1115 4 ^th Ave., Rockford, IL 61104. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Swedish American Hospital and Northwoods Nursing Home.
