Robin K. Sarver

Feb 14, 1976 — Oct 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robin K. Sarver, age 50, on October 16, 2026, after a long illness, with her husband by her side. Robin was born on Valentine’s Day in 1976 in Rockford, IL. She grew up in Freeport, Il and graduated from Freeport High School in the class of ’95.

She was the beloved wife of David B. Sarver for 29 years. David and his father, Vern Sarver, were devoted to her caregiving through her years of being bedridden and in and out of hospitals. Despite her health limitations, Robin always had a heart to help others and even home-schooled a friend’s son through his high school graduation.

She was very creative and generous, and loved to plan outings and special events for friends and family. Ever since rescuing a homeless kitten keeping warm in a church’s nativity manger when Robin was in elementary school, Robin loved and provided a home for her cats. She also inherited a love for family photos from her Grandma Bardin and made sure to preserve precious memories in photos; many of them were displayed on their walls for all to enjoy.

Robin is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband, David, David’s father Vern, her parents, Dewey and Betty Meinders, her brother, Michael Meinders, her Aunt Gala Sunderbruch, her cousin, Jacob Sunderbruch, several nieces and nephews, extended family in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, and many members of her husband’s family.

She was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents, her uncles, Wayne Bardin and Chip Sunderbruch, her mother-in-law, Diane Sarver, and her sister-in-law, Jennifer Washington.

Above all, Robin cherished her family, and she considered her closest friends to be family, too: Linda Al Majedi, a life-long friend, Lori Hicks, Joshua Hicks, Jessica Czubachowski and her children.

A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at Marengo United Methodist Church at 119 E. Washington St., Marengo, IL on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10 am until the service at 11 am. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
