Robert "Bob" Carl Salamone, 67, of Rockford, passed away in his home on November 15, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1958, in Rockford, the son of Carl Robert and Joanne (Killeen) Salamone.
Bob worked for many years as an HVAC journeyman with Local 219. On April 15, 2000, he married the love of his life, Amy Homuth. He was a devoted member of St. Bridget Church.
Bob had a deep love of travel, especially to the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Tetons. A gifted artist, he enjoyed painting and drawing, and in recent years discovered a passion for creating pallet art from reclaimed pallets. He took great joy in riding his motorcycle and bicycle. He was also a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Curious from a young age, Bob spent countless hours reading encyclopedias and was known for recalling unusual and fascinating facts. Above all else, Bob cherished his family. He adored his son and grandson and treasured every moment spent with them. He was the keeper of the holiday traditions: trick or treating, decorating Christmas cookies and dying Easter eggs. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dogs, Sawzer and Danka.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years Amy Salamone; son Joseph (Dani) Salamone; grandson Legion Bartusiak; mother Joanne Salamone; sisters Jori and Julie Salamone; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; the mother of his son, Alice Salamone; and his dogs Sawzer and Danka. He is predeceased by his father Carl Robert Salamone; son Robert Christopher Salamone; and daughter Allison Elizabeth Salamone.
