Robert F. McGuire

Feb 28, 1969 — Aug 21, 2026

Robert Fredrick McGuire, Sr. “Flyin’ Hawaiian”, 57, of Rockford, passed away on August 21, 2026, at UW in Madison, WI, after battling cancer. He was born on February 28, 1969, in Honolulu, HI, the son of Jimmie and Adeline McGuire, Sr.

Robert graduated from Jefferson High School in 1987. He worked as a forklift driver for Kenco and was a member of Firstborn Ministries Church. Robert married Marcia Renay on June 19, 2004.

Above all, Robert loved his family and treasured every moment he spent with them. He loved jamming out with his brother John, running around and making memories with his grandchildren, riding motorcycles with his friends and sons, attending car shows with his wife Marcia, searching for treasures at garage sales with his beloved sister Laurie, and going to church with his sister Suzan and brother-in-law Chuck. Robert was always on the go, whether he was helping someone in need or giving the shirt off his back to make sure another person was cared for. His generosity, loyalty, and enormous heart defined him, and he will always be remembered as someone who showed his love through the way he cared for others.

Robert is survived by his wife Marcia Renay McGuire; his children Justin (Jean) McGuire, Jason (Shelby) McGuire, Haley McGuire, and Robert McGuire, Jr.; 8 grandchildren; siblings Doety (Gary) Madden, J.P. McGuire, Jr., Suzan (Chuck) Cushman, John McGuire and Dawn Hansen; brother-in-law Mitch Corcoran; extended family aunt Teresa Kaaihue, James and Cindy Kaaihue, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents; mother Adeline McGuire; beloved sister Laurie Corcoran; 3 aunts and 3 uncles.
