Robert Mcgrew

Robert O. McGrew, 73, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was born to Bernice (Tice) and Kenneth McGrew Sr. on July 23, 1949, in Deering, Missouri. Bob was raised in Rockford, Illinois. On August 17, 1984, Bob married Kathy here locally. He was a serviceman, and even a service manager, before retiring from Guler Appliance. He was very fascinated with cars and hot-rods, even owning a few of his own throughout the years. The most recent was a Corvette. He also loved attending car shows whenever he had the chance. Bob also loved to watch his grandson play hockey. He and his wife Kathy were season ticket holders for the Rockford Icehogs and would occasionally have a night out together.  He is survived by his wife Kathy of 38 years; children, Bobby McGrew Jr., Chad McGrew, Deanna (Scott) Wilson, Shawn Adams, and Neal Adams; grandchildren, Gabe McGrew, Caleb McGrew, Alix Adams, Nicholas Wilson, Kimberly Adams, and Jeffry Adams; sisters, Brinda (Brian) Walker, Linda (Keith) Montgomery; many nieces and nephews; many, many special friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Kenneth; grandson, John Adams; sister, Patricia Whitman; brother, Kenneth Jr. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
