Robert Lee

Robert A. Lee, 79, of Machesney Park, passed away in his home on May 13, 2023, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 30, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Sadewater) Lee, Jr. Robert started Lee Excavating, Inc and Robert retired from Troy Lee Excavating, Inc., as an Operating Engineer, after his son purchased the business. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his wife Deborah; children Troy (Betsy) Lee of Roscoe, Robert (Penny) Lee of Machesney Park, Carrie (Andy) Webb of Machesney Park, Russell (Mandy) Romine of Rockford, and Renee (Chris) Beu of Loved Park; grandchildren Max (Lauren) Lee, Spencer (Meaghan) Lee, Gavin (Gabrielle Wood) Lee, Curtis Cleaveland, Riley Webb, Logan Webb, Riverlyn Romine, Jett Romine, Kendall Beu, and Beckett Beu; great grandchildren Kinsley, Julian, and Kyler Lee; siblings Richard (Darlene) Lee, Donny Lee, Charles (Sharon) Lee, Linda Lee, and Tom Lee; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife Mary, parents, and siblings Harold Lee, Delores Knodle, John Lee, Jerry Lee, and James Lee. Per Robert’s request, no public services will be held.
