Robert J. Harper "Jay", 65, of Loves Park, passed away in his home on April 19, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1959, in Martinsburg, West Virginia; the son of Clarence and Anna (Clark) Harper, Sr. Jay moved to Loves Park, IL in 2002 and married Kellie Patterson in June of 2004. He learned masonry at a young age through his brothers and continued the profession throughout his life until 2008.  He then took a position working in maintenance for Saint Anne's in Rockford until he retired in December of 2024 when he went part time.  He enjoyed playing coed softball, mud volleyball, and spending time with the grandkids. He would travel back to West Virginia once a year to spend time with his family.  He was a huge Elvis fan and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his wife Kellie Patterson, son Anthony Harper (Elizabeth), stepson Austin Patterson, 5 grandchildren, 1 sister and 1 brother and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Anna Catherine Clark, Clarence Edwin Harper Sr., 6 brothers, 2 sisters.
