Robert Billington

December 21, 1946 — November 28, 2023

Robert A. Billington, 76, of Rockford, passed away on November 28, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1946, in Chicago, IL; the son of Alexander and Ann Iona (Land) Billington. Robert went to Northern Illinois University on a wrestling scholarship. Over the years he was a Rockford Police Officer, a car salesman, delivered pizzas for Pino’s, and even taught driver’s ed. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Bears fan and coached the children’s football team for the police department. He was known to have a great sense of humor, and be very helpful with his neighbors and would help them get to their appointments.

Survivors include his daughters Kimberly (Timothy Petersen) Kershner and Chrissy (Jared) Lange; granddaughters Haley (Avery) Zucchi, Marissa Kershner, Aleena and Annie Lange; the mother of his daughters Katie Billington; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Patricia Barr.
